We're Here

The good part about the political unrest in the streets of downtown Bangkok is that the grands did not have school today, so we had lots of little squeals of delight and hugs this morning. While there is no immediate danger, navigating through the rioting area makes it difficult for students and teachers from the other side of town to get to the international school.
Abi was so glad that Grandmoni brought Angel home after her recent visit to the Atlanta Doll Clinic. Angel belonged to Mandy as a child, so after thirty years of being mothered (a fine line between mothering and smothering) by another little girl, Angel was in dire need of repair. Gigi pictures herself a mama-wannabe, too, so was quite eager to take Angel on a spin in her stroller.
Perplexity of people and traffic, everywhere (!) with a curious propensity for Pepto Bismol colored taxis and motor cycles.
Fancy malls on almost every corner. We bought Speedo suits for Britain and Abi who are showing great promise on the swim team, and noted their talent must be genetic since Grandenny was an All-American swimmer. Funny response from Izzy when asked what special activity she had chosen for after school. She  effervesced with her desire to belong to the movie club where they watch movies and eat pop corn. Another inherited propensity. My favorite,  too.
Denny and Chad are a bit scrunched in the tuk-tuk made for folks a bit smaller, we're thinking. Altogether, a joyful day. The time warp is working for us so far.
