Grand Camp

No words to describe the gaggle of girls ala giggles galore going on at our house this week. We may have had bandaids before breakfast when we broke out the bikes and roller skates on Day One of Grand Camp.

Nothing like the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer with picnics by the pool, quiet reading snuggle-times, cake pops at the ready, and catching fireflies....

And then, the arrival of the cousins!!! Big girls, little girls, and middle-girls with mega hugs. No awkward silences. Everyone picked up right where they left off two and a half years ago. And a little boy cousin, new on the scene since the last family reunion, seemed quite happy to be the center of attention.

There is no better bargain around than floating down river all day on the Chattahoochee. (A hearty recommendation for weekday excursions. We hear the river is difficult to even see on weekends because of the "log jam" of tubes afloat.) We traveled light so have no photos of our motley crew navigating the 'Hooch, but only Grandaddy's nature-lore lecture on counting tree rings, our picnic launch, and cookie conclusion.

(...and talking it down)
Grandmoni: I don't think I'm the baseball cap type. It looks kinda weird on me.
Other Grandgirls: It's cute. You look fine. It's good.
Izzy: Well, actually you're right.
Grandmoni: But I can't take it off cuz now my hair's a wreck.
Izzy: Grandmoni, it's okay. Your hair always looks the same because it's so curly and all.

Out of the mouths of babes. The "and all" comment was the funniest!
